The co-creator of Call of Duty, renowned for co-creating the immensely successful first-person shooter Call of Duty, has died in a car accident in the state of California aged 55.

His passing was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, the video game company he co-founded.

The influential game designer lost his life when his vehicle was involved in a crash and caught fire on a motorway in Los Angeles on Sunday morning, as reported by.

"We are facing an unimaginable loss, and our hearts are with Vince's loved ones, those closest to him, and the countless individuals inspired by his work," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts stated.
