Former Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities report that a ex- doctor now faces charges for carrying out sexual assaults involving 38 victims who were patients.
Details of the Serious Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of acts of sexual assault – comprising acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
One senior CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Police Inquiry
These allegations come after what police called a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
Breakdown of Charges
Prosecutors said the forty-five charges he is charged with:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
