Beloved Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Dies at the Age of Sixty.
Stateside performer Pat Finn, who was seen in beloved TV shows such as "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away at 60 years old.
The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California recently following cancer treatment beginning in 2022, as reported by media reports.
"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones shared in a message.
They added that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Television Career
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He was also seen in a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous well-known programs, including:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- "House"
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits are "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Outside of his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was part of a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils during his career and it's nearly impossible to find someone who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote online.
Pat Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
